A Big Dog in an RV, and Annie's Behind™

Outside a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside a dog, it's too dark to read. ~ Groucho Marx

Jake is starting to dog it up around here.

Yin and Yang

A stick at tooth level! Thanks, guys!

Jake behind "Life is good"

It's April, and that means the tops come off. Sometimes we raise car roofs, too.

Annie's Behind™ the Tracker

I'm outside taking the picture because I SAW the road ahead of time.
After our desert romp, Annie replaced the ripped soft top on the Tracker.

We've been enjoying friends lately. We're sorry Cheryl couldn't stay longer; we blew her off to go get Jake.

In later years, the pair could no longer remember when humans stopped visiting. I seem to remember liking people, Roxi mused, reaching into her pocket for a poop bag.

We enjoyed an afternoon and evening with Hughes and Judy Moir, who threw their very, very busy lives into neutral to spend some hours with us. They're great company - energetic and charismatic - and it's a pleasure to see them whenever we can.

Grace and Steve kindly met us at a park so our pups could meet. These two balls of energy (with a matching dog) are boondockers, too. Steve has retired, and Grace pretends not to mind. They'll be on the road in less than two years.

My new cousin with serious star power. There's a strong family resemblance; I don't want to talk about it.

What the HECK am I looking at here??

Hold us, we're scared!

I'm calling this "The End"

You have taken "The End" to its lowest heights!

Oh good grief - someday your cousin will get back at you - and possibly so will Jake!! Watch out for those tracks they call roads. If you are walking and Annie is driving, does that mean you are now behind?

Karen Snyder said...

Ummm, 3rd photo from end; maybe a sidewinder track? Watch where you're stepping!! Same could be said as to that last photo! :)

The Good Luck Duck said...

Judy, I prefer highest depths. Apologies!

Donna, by the time young Landon can get back at me, I'll have that same face all the time.

The Good Luck Duck said...

SIDEWINDER!!! OMG, I was afraid someone would say that!!!

You are still fascinated with poop

Very interesting photos... hmmmmm... all kinds of thoughts racing through my little brain.. snakes? poop bags.... shovels (for digging out)... I'll probably be thinking about this post all afternoon.

Looks like you're in a pretty safe place for the taking off of the tops...whichever kind you meant. Glad to see you're looking happy and healthy. I sure would like to have some warmer weather...

The Good Luck Duck said...

Marianne, we're having enough to share. And, yes. Very safe for all kinds of toplessness, as long as our "fiancé" is nowhere around.

Sharon, Yay! and Sorry.

Yesterday, today, and tomorrow, Teri.

Geezz! Give a guy a break! I meant it for the dog but it fits for the baby, too. Karma, is not something you mess around with- if you get my drift.

The Good Luck Duck said...

Haha! Okay, I get your drift. My little cuz will only get more adorable, while I...well, it doesn't bear thinking about.

TexCyn said...

Look, you have salt & pepper shakers now! How cool is that! But seriously, I don't think I'd like what they dispense....

Hahaha on the baby face! I was afraid you'd say you found him in the desert too...and..well...snake tracks or baby tracks?

Never mind, Jake is making tracks in the end...er uh, dispensing.
(why do you make me talk to you like this??)

The Good Luck Duck said...

Lol, Cyn! I don't know, but I'm glad.

Should I be skeered if the tops are coming off?? ;)

Looks like jake is really settling in. Kudos!

I'm totally ignoring everything else.

The Good Luck Duck said...

That seems wise, Cyndi. I will, too.

Right, Mary? My work here is done. Until the next poo.

Betty, it's a done deal. No need to be scared now.

I don't know but the look on Jake's face in the last pic - oh how could you!

Cute babe. In the other pics, Jake looks happy. Love those flying ears.

Gaelyn said...

Hope those are big bags in your pockets.

Wow, I love the Tracker - what a fun little vehicle. You did *not* blow me off - and I'm sure we'll meet up again soon.

I went home and did my taxes, e-filed, and now have the refund automatically deposited in my checking account. :-)

However, I am feeling the pull of the open road...

The Good Luck Duck said...

Cheryl, I read that you're thinking about the NM State Parks pass this year? Great bargain for us. Great GREAT bargain for you. It seems like the odds are in our favor for meeting up!

Gaelyn, they keep getting bigger.

Jake is seeming more comfortable all the time, Mary. Annie's outside right now teaching him to fetch. If our family history runs true, the baby will have cute flying ears, too. :D <---JUST KIDDING, SARAH!

I was hoping you might want to share this wind turbine with your followers. Made by a friend of my son. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1354200512/pacific-sky-power

OK if those zig zag things weren't made by you I would be pulling out by now. I don't do angry rattlers in spring or for that matter ever. The web thing with the perfect hole is a Tarantula nest. They are cool they eat scorpians.

Loved your post full of good laughs. Heading home tomorrow morning.

The baby's photo is so funny! My daughter's "first photo" at the hospital was like that - I didn't buy it, and later she was upset. Babies can make the funniest faces!

That zig-zag in the dust IS scarey. Get out the high boots, for sure.

I've seen a spider nest like that, but didn't realize it was a Tarantula's nest.

The Good Luck Duck said...

Jo, it seems like someone else told me they eat scorpions, too. So, two sources - that means it's true.

Haha Barbara! You're thinking that Polaroid didn't set - I'll wait for the next one.

Yeah, things are getting real out here now.

We are at an RV park 10 miles west of Tucson off Ajo road. If you are in the area please e-mail me--I'd Love to visit you guys. I'm subscribed to your blog. Sincerely,Dixie

Hi Dixie! Blogger didn't give me your address, but you can email us at whotookmybucket at gmail dot com.

We probably were looking at your land (or vice versa...?). Did you find some navigable roads? Shoot us an email and I'll get back to you.

Charlene, I shared the link on our Facebook page.

hummmm, snake tracks, spider holes, and "the end"?? I swear you can make just about anything funny and entertaining. Reading your blog just starts my day off right... and the baby pic, well who could resist all that cuteness. Kris

Old friend flying rabbits out there? Hum a puzzle!

The Good Luck Duck said...

Well, "flying rabbits" suggests a VERY old friend, and that would surprise the pellets outta me.

The Good Luck Duck said...

Kris, thanks for saying so. I'd hate it if people read this and scronked up their whole day.

Looks like you've already gone to the dogs with your tops off. At this point, you may have to change the PG rating on your blog.
Jake is a handsome doggie I must say. I can understand why you've both lost it. And can't wait for that NM wind to take you!! You're gonna love it out there!

Old indeed when firecrackers out car windows was teroism of the day? ??or inside the car? I'm still around and happy.

The Good Luck Duck said...

Nina, we'd switch to PG: Pretty Graphic. I can't wait! (for NM, not the graphic part)

Anonymous, riddle me this: What kind of gravy do you eat with flying rabbits?

Anonymous said...

Cheeking up on old friends. Flying rabbit got away but my friend did enjoy eatingone. Red eye gravy . One. More clue. Then ill give up. You may not be who I think. Green car chopped off but ran as good as a pacer

The Good Luck Duck said...

Anon (can I call you Anon?), I may just be who you think, but I eat flying squirrels with 'mater gravy when I'm in Mississippi. And, nothing, my friend, runs as good as a little brown Pacer. chillyrodent at gmail dot com

I mentioned you and linked to your toilet post on Escapees tonight. The forum is "Technical Tips and Tricks(?)" I think. A poster was wondering why more folks don't use composting toilets in their RVs.

I shared a composting toilet story from 1984 and then linked to your post. Hope that's ok. The OP reported that he enjoyed reading the Lucky Ducks' post! LG

The Good Luck Duck said...

Cool, LG - thanks! I wonder the same thing. I appreciate you spreading the composting gospel. :D
